Hello everyone,

During our construction, we repeatedly filled out the forms from [BG Bau]. I always assumed it was about undeclared work and therefore rounded up generously, so that no one could accuse me of having undeclared work.

Now, after completion of the construction measures, we have received an invoice. This concerns a contribution levy for a kind of insurance for my construction helpers. However, I have already taken out such insurance for my construction helpers myself (it was included in a necessary insurance).

What can I do now so that I don't have to bear these costs? Is it sufficient to file an objection with the note that I have already insured my construction helpers, or do I have to do more?

Regards, MG

Your insurance was only additional. That is up to you, but you cannot avoid the BG.

Unfortunately informed too late, and then reported too many hours...

OK, how annoying... I will try to reduce the hours further and let's see. Do the parents themselves also count as construction helpers?

Everyone except the client and spouse.

Good luck, but if you argue like you did above, you will get into even more trouble!

"I reported too many hours so they wouldn't notice my undeclared work!" I would be curious about the BG's reaction...

Out of pure curiosity:
How many hours are we talking about? For a few hundred euros, I would save myself the trouble at a (presumably) undeclared work construction site and pay the fee, and be glad to be done with BG without criminal proceedings.

No, I would argue that the questionnaires always arrived offset and I couldn’t say the hours precisely. Therefore, on days when I wasn’t sure, I always assumed 10 hours. Even if, for example, my father was only there for 7 hours. I wanted to make sure that if I declared 7 hours but it was actually 8, they wouldn’t accuse me of undeclared work. So I preferred more rather than less. I know that my father was there on some weeks always on Saturdays and Sundays. I then always reported 20 hours for both days. But it could of course also have been only 16 hours.

Altogether, it’s about 500€.
