That's exactly why I brought it up. With many old tariffs, you don't pay any account maintenance fees but still have a relatively high interest on credit for current times.
New contracts offer around 0.1% interest on credit and cost more for that.
I guess switching to a current tariff will be a losing deal. That's why it's better to keep investing in the old one.
To be able to use the credit later, one can also agree on a fixed special repayment after one year during a future financing.
