There are also toilets with integrated shower function (e.g. TECEone). Saves space, costs only slightly more, and is in my opinion more comfortable to use. I can highly recommend it.

My parents-in-law (who had never had a bidet before and never missed it) have now had such a toilet installed during the renovation and are thrilled... you can hardly tell that the toilet has additional functions and you don't have to clean a second ceramic piece.

Maybe a dumb question and sorry if it's too intimate, but with such floor plans or the shown inventory, I always wonder why one needs a bidet? I only know them from hotels and theoretically know what they are used for. But why is that better than just a toilet and toilet paper?

Bidets always have the wrong angle for me, so I wouldn't plan on having one in my own property either, but I've now had such a shower in my third rental apartment (they occasionally come as attachments to a faucet at discount stores, actually intended for washing hair at the sink). Never again without. It's a thousand times more hygienic, much gentler, and leaves no paper residue (no idea if other people have problems with that). Occasionally I also use it when I want to rinse out food leftovers/burnt bits from a pot or the moldy remains of applesauce from the jar, etc.

Imagine you stumble in the park and land palm-first in a dog poop. You now have 2 options to clean your hand:

1) Paper
2) Water

What is your choice? Justify!

Hehe... not easy to answer that. Go into the garden and dig moist soil with your bare hands. Then go inside and try to clean your hands with just tissue paper... the result under running water is definitely better

... and you can't hope for a lucky poop every day

Sorry! :-P
