Nice idea with the towel storage. :) Yes, theoretically the bathroom door could also open outwards, although that would of course not be optimal. The bathroom is later intended for a family of four until the 3-year-old children grow up. However, there is still a 2.5sqm mini bathroom upstairs with a toilet + small shower + small washbasin, where a washing machine does not fit because there is a sloping roof there.

Thank you for your idea. In this variant, the shower would be directly in front of the bathroom door. Couldn’t it then seem a bit artificially cramped?

Why not? You would have to see the floor plan of the storey for that. It simply creates an incredible amount of free space in the bathroom. I have had my bathroom door opening outwards for over 12 years now and I am happy every time that it does not open inwards. And as a family bathroom, where you sometimes go to the bathroom with a child, I think that can be a good thing.

If you have a glass door and let it bang open against the wall when not in use, then you have no visually perceptible wall to run into.

So Luke, considering you have quite a lot of concerns about glass doors, you have a lot of potpourri of wishes, plus a small, poorly shaped room for 4 people. I would personally probably opt for a tub that you can shower in. That would ease things quite a bit. Also, the 15cm built-up wall, when it comes to centimeters, shouldn’t be overlooked. I’m leaning towards asymmetry for the washbasin area, where the washing machine fits underneath. The countertops are a bit improvised on my part, a carpenter can do that better.
