After we recently took samples at the sanitary wholesale and were already partially confronted with the not exactly low prices there, we received the corresponding offer from the sanitary specialist yesterday. As mentioned, we were forewarned and were not shocked by the price at the bottom right.

Still, I wonder if some things are really worth it. For example, a concealed faucet with a spout at the bathtub costs €600 more than an exposed faucet. Okay, you can have it or not.

What actually unsettles me more is the topic of bathroom furniture. Are these pieces from the sanitary specialist really that much better than furniture from the furniture store or hardware store? There, the vanity cabinet + washbasin costs €1200, and that's not even in the upper price range. Then there are also mirror/medicine cabinets + maybe a tall cabinet. Unfortunately, the washbasins and vanity cabinets are specifically matched to each other. Are there any tips on how to get a stylish bathroom without paying a fortune?

Unfortunately, I have no idea about the unit prices for the sanitary objects. But I will probably buy the bathroom furniture at [Elch]. I also don't see why I should pay a fortune for it. Even in the hardware stores, I find the bathroom furniture still too expensive.

Yep, the moose

We bought a worktop there with exactly the front that the bathroom furniture also has... The sanitary guy is supposed to install the sink for us. Later, a drawer cabinet will be mounted underneath, and there are also nice wall cabinets in the same design.

I can easily do without such an expensive mirror/vanity combo if it’s supposed to cost over 500. There are so many beautiful mirrors that aren’t expensive at all and give the bathroom an individual touch.

The bathroomFURNITURE is rather not listed in the construction service description, but the sanitary fixtures are. We also had to have the sanitary fixtures (and tiles) installed by our general contractor, otherwise the warranty for the bathroom expires.

That’s why we only took the standard washbasin upstairs in the bathroom, because the one we wanted to upgrade was eternally expensive. I can install a washbasin myself afterwards.

Exactly.
Maybe there are premium house manufacturers who also include the bathroom furniture in the construction service description, but our house builder is not one of them.
I think we will go around the furniture stores over the weekend. We don’t want just a standard washbasin, but it doesn’t have to be at any price.

The countertop will also be used as a washbasin for us. We will put something together. We will also buy the rest of the bathroom furniture at [Elch]. Bathroom furniture is really very expensive in specialist stores. As for the sanitary fittings themselves, I have to admit I got off fairly lightly. I didn't find the surcharges I have to pay completely exaggerated either. Of course, it adds up in the end, but it was less than initially expected.
