Basement walls do not dry

If it is really just about too high humidity, you can take a look at an Aktobis WDH-520HB. I am not familiar with larger devices either. The mentioned device type has a comparatively manageable power consumption and regulates the humidity quite reliably. I have such a device for the basement, which especially in summer sometimes has somewhat high humidity levels. Before that, however, you should have the cause of the moisture clarified.

Unfortunately, we already have a damp wall in the basement of our newly built house. I hope it is not a direct construction defect and that we won’t have another huge construction site right away. That’s why we want to first test it with a dehumidifier to see if it might just be residual moisture from the construction.

“A” damp wall is a bit strange ...

How long has the basement been there, or how was it constructed? Normal basement construction without any additional sealing measures on the exterior, or was it sealed according to DIN xyz? How is the basement used? Purely as a utility basement or rather as living space?
