Hello, we are not heating at the moment, but we feel that the basic consumption of our heat exchanger is too high. It also emits a lot of heat. How many kWh are normal without drawing any hot water? The boiler is currently running at 60°C (because of [Salmonellen]). Thank you very much for the information!

We moved into our house a year ago and since then I have been monitoring the consumption.
For us it is 7-8 Kw/h per day, even in midsummer. When we are completely out of the house, it is about 6 Kw/h. That means about 2000 Kw/h per year at currently €0.26 / Kw/h going to waste. 1-2 Kw/h per day for hot water seems about right….

With an annual consumption of about 6000 Kw/h, the “background noise” corresponds to one third, or if you assume that we only needed 4000 Kw/h, then it is 50% additional consumption.

Just for comparison:
Since Saturday the radiator in the bathroom has been running continuously at 2.5. That costs us about 4 Kw/h per day.

Even setting the heating completely to standby does not help.
I wanted to ask this question here already and I am happy about any clarification.

I guess it is simply due to the principle, since the carrier liquid is continuously pumped through. And then there are heat losses in the transfer station.
I would of course love to turn that off but actually have little hope.
It’s a pity, because 40 Kw/h /sqm/ would really be something for the year 2000.

And we also pay an additional €45 basic fee per month.

Who owns the heat exchanger (network or customer), where is the ownership boundary, and where is the consumption measured? (Before or after the HE)

The exchanger belongs to the network operator. The consumption is measured in the same room. Inlet temperature of the heat transfer fluid vs outlet temperature.

On which side of the heat exchanger? Before or after?

? The temperature difference can only be determined if you measure once before and once after.
