Hello everyone,

We are currently interested in a house, so we are considering buying it.
Year of construction 1984, about 145 sqm of living space, inhabited in recent years by an elderly couple. They used pellets worth about €2000 per year for heating + hot water with their pellet stove. Additionally, there is a tiled stove, I don’t know how much it was used.
Can this generally be estimated whether this is okay for a house of this age?
Are there any missing information?

Regards,
Tobi

I am interested in a station wagon, year 2002. The previous owner spent about 600 euros on fuel per year. Is that okay for such a vehicle?

Sorry, to answer your question: Yes! How should one assess that without, for example, information about the house construction and without knowing the heating behavior etc. of the previous owners...

There really is nothing to say. My parents have a bigger house built in '82, but pay less for electricity - directly (!!!) heating.

Especially with older people, heating behavior is often... special. 24 degrees in winter with constantly tilted windows naturally affects consumption. What does the energy certificate say? How much energy is actually consumed? Amounts in euros are even more difficult to interpret because energy (in this case pellets) can certainly be obtained under different conditions.

Crystal ball!
