Yes, it is possible. We did that in the forward for 10/2023. The KfW is redeemed and then we have only one loan.

Well, it depends on how the interest rates develop. If they rise after signing, a fixed interest rate is better. If they fall after signing, a variable rate is better. With this amount, the risk is low. Neither variable nor fixed interest rates will financially break you.

I'm afraid we are still too cautious. We will probably accept the offer.

Wouldn't a [Bausparvertrag] be a good option there? With that, you could then pay off the remaining amount.

Nothing beats a good night’s sleep, so you’re doing (the right thing) for yourselves. :)

Not with us, because in our case it was a straightforward application. Although through Dr. Klein, since we took our old current lender again, they waived lengthy checks, forms, and plans. Thus, we were able to secure the conditions within 2 weeks for the next year. The Ing-Diba then took over KfW and main loan as 2 contracts under the same conditions. For both, we now have special repayments and the same interest rates. (Ing-Diba was indeed 0.02% more expensive, but due to the land registry thing, it becomes cheaper for us again… with 0.02% we just brush that off)
