Are the windows defective?

In our house, there are drafts everywhere. Therefore, we had a Blower-Door test done, which surprisingly turned out well. For the experts: only 0.83 1/h. However, the thermal imaging camera showed significant heat losses in the area of the window reveals. Our energy consultant documented temperatures of less than 12.6 degrees at an outside temperature of 20 degrees. Is this to be considered a defect? We still have 1 year of warranty on the windows.

One must investigate how the described heat loss occurs; is it due to improperly insulated joints between the window and the exterior wall, or is it a too thin (or completely absent) reveal insulation? It cannot be easily assessed without knowing the situation (planning, execution) on site.

I also had a blower door test done a few years ago. It is amazing what comes to light there. We had defects in the window area and based on the test, we then had an expert come. He documented everything and it was recognized as a warranty service.

I would not give in here either. I see this as a defect and would act quickly. We also had a problem with the insulation at the [Laibung]. Only a professional pointed this out to us, and so we were still able to use the warranty.
