Are renovations not lucrative for the companies?

The craftsmen are all fully booked (meaning "fully booked schedules" ;) )

My shell builder in Berlin makes defensive offers with a 40% markup and is still "rewarded" with the contract
Relatives in the Stuttgart area searched for craftsmen for months and had to call each one several times a week before anyone responded to the tender with an offer.

There is no junior staff. In a few years, the craftsmen will be among the better earners

Well, all the more shameful that young refugees cannot be taken on for training  there is a lot of potential there. Strange politics

... well then maybe they will at least get enough Nachwuchs again, ........... but those who are now "not responding" or those with a 40% surcharge hopefully won't get any more orders either.

............You are completely right, the companies should "at least communicate" if they no longer have capacities.
........ although they don't make money from that.
and businessmen are not all raised to be considerate,
I also have one in the family and know what I'm talking about.

We are working on it! In Trier, there is a round table precisely because of such issues. Let’s hope that reasonable results come out of it quickly.

My experiences are unfortunately the same. I searched for 3 years for someone to install underfloor heating for me. Now we are doing it ourselves. The same goes for the facade insulation, but that was because the company that was supposed to do it only delivered shoddy work on the ground floor, so that a 5-year-old would have done better. Therefore, I’m now daring to tackle that myself as well. The same story with the exterior stairs (house entrance), which I also built myself. I was able to assign a few jobs, half were done well, the rest... better to draw a veil of silence over it.
