Are recessed lights feasible with HaloX boxes?

Hello everyone,

I intend to use the built-in LED Nova IP65 round max. 35W white/chrome swivel recessed light (item no.: 936.63) from Paulmann in the bathroom ceiling panel. Now I am wondering how it works with the HaloX junction boxes.

If you look at the pictures on the Paulmann website, it seems that these recessed lights are rather designed for suspended ceilings? Because of the two side feet, which are then pressed against the suspended ceiling by the springs.

How is it possible to install these spots with HaloX junction boxes? Using a 100mm box probably won’t work because the side feet will likely hit the box walls. So you would have to use a (significantly?) more expensive 180mm box so that it looks like a "suspended" ceiling and the feet rest against the front part of the box. Or am I misunderstanding this?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Are there actually other box providers besides HaloX from Kaiser-Elektro? Or does almost every ceiling manufacturer use HaloX?

I have already asked Paulmann, they have no experience with the HaloX boxes...

Regards

You could also get it into the 100s and that would hold quite well, but if you want to be on the safe side, you'd better take the 180s.

Okay, thanks for your response. With the 100s, the two outer feet would then rest against the walls and you think it would hold quite well like that?

Because the part that has to go through the hole is already 83 mm. That means on each side there are just about 8 mm left in a 100 box and I think the legs are significantly longer than 8 mm or need considerably more space than 8 mm to rest downwards as in the middle picture (with the presumably suspended ceiling).

That's why I'm writing, take the 180s.

Do you have rough estimates of how much more that costs? How much does a 180ml can with a lid approximately cost? Does anyone know? I read that you usually have to get the cans through the ceiling manufacturers anyway, right? They then dictate the prices to you.

You have already realized yourself that the one who does the ceiling also dictates the prices.

Roughly estimated, it is probably about 10-15 euros more per can. But without guarantee.
