Are outward opening windows possible with window shutters?

Fixed lower parts of the windows help against that, for example. No, that’s in the Green, we are the Orange. is more representative of the Green. From the outside, the distance is not significant, and from the inside you’re welcome to demonstrate to me how the second step can go before the first one :)

Of course, this only works with two-leaf windows. You close the window and the shutter up to 15 cm. Then you pull the shutter into a catch and spring on the outside with a hook. Then you close the window. But it’s the most annoying fiddling. And the window must sit flush with the wall on the inside, so that the windowsill projects into the room.

A combination with shutters is mechanically not a problem. If you want to be able to close the shutters from the inside, you either need a drive assistance (electrification) or mechanical support so that the windows are not in the way when reaching for the shutters – whether to open or close them. Electrification is certainly cheaper. The only remaining question is whether you prefer the shutters to fold or slide. The drive for a sliding solution is probably easier to implement and more durable.

In Germany yes, elsewhere no, so it’s worth looking for solutions in other countries.

That was then the reason why I abandoned it; the level would have dropped too much.

For us, exactly as already indicated: my wife likes to fully close the shutters and I can’t stand having to move something aside to open the window first. It would have been a structural peace solution. Now we have found an alternative structural peace solution.

The construct makes absolutely no sense, which is also why it is so widespread. An alternative has already been mentioned.

Are there actually limiters or locks for the opening angle? Otherwise, the window might possibly slam against the reveal in a gust of wind after it first shut and then was thrown open again.

Storm hooks. These are absolutely common in Scandinavia, Schleswig-Holstein, and also in old Hamburg buildings with historic windows.

There are shutters with motors and also manual ones with a crank, both usable with closed windows (and with the electronic solution, of course, also centrally controllable and integrable into any automated shading plays). This is an absolute standard solution for today's shutters and possible for you.

Regarding outward-opening windows: my parental home also has them, each with two sashes, which is very practical because of flowers, space in the room, etc. The question that arises for many today about opening the kitchen window in front of the sink (keyword faucet) is also obsolete. If you want such windows, why not?
