Hello experts,

Maybe this is an unprofessional question ;)

We actually do not expect it. But recently a question came up that unfortunately no one in our circle of acquaintances could answer.

Are commitment interest charges tax-deductible?

Have a nice evening

Hello Wazzup,

for an owner-occupied property, the commitment interest is not tax-deductible.

For a rented property, I would consider it as income-related expenses. However, you should ask your tax advisor for more details in this case.

Best regards

No need to ask.. in the case of personal use, no interest is deductible. Only as described in the case of rental.
