Do you even really want a play street? You wouldn't even be allowed to drive through it yourself anymore..

Why not? A play street is "just" a street where vehicles and pedestrians have equal rights and you can only drive at walking speed.

The establishment of streets generally follows a traffic flow concept for the adjacent residential areas. Simulations of various traffic conditions are carried out, and then a concept of 50 / 30 / [Spielstraße] is developed. So, usually, a reclassification will not be made or cannot be made without an expert opinion. It is also largely clear that everyone prefers to live in a [Spielstraße] (preferably a dead-end), but the other areas should, please, be passable quickly.

Oh, you mean a traffic-calmed area, right?

Hello,

I would like to expand this thread with a curious question.

Why is it often the case - after builders have decided on a plot of land/a property for various reasons - that after moving into the new home, the desire arises to have the adjacent street declared a traffic-calmed zone?

To me, this feels like "wash my fur, but don't get me wet" and reminds me of the disputes with residents of Düsseldorf Airport. They purchased very cheap building land on the Meerbusch side years ago and have been actively engaging lawyers and courts for years as well.

Easter greetings
