Hello everyone,

hope this category fits - the following problem:
I have an angled device shut-off valve (a tap with a 3/4 inch thread for the dishwasher). Due to space constraints, I cannot fit the water stop underneath it.

-> Is it permissible to mount a 3/4 inch angled piece (e.g. 45°) onto the tap and then put the aquastop on it? I would probably have to seal the angled piece with Teflon tape? In principle, this is no different from the valve on the wall plate itself, right? That also only has one thread and is constantly under pressure...

-> Alternatively, I could buy a braided hose for extension. But I'm a bit more worried about whether it will hold up permanently. Also, the original Miele hose would cost 100 €. Cheaper options are possible, but in case of damage, the insurance would probably be more difficult...

What would you recommend? What is approved? Which solution would avoid issues with the insurance?

Regards & thanks,
Marco

Well, the Aquastop only prevents water flow from the connection point...

But what if the angle valve itself flies off or becomes leaky? Then the Aquastop won't help anymore.

I would screw on an angle valve and seal it properly...

If necessary, you can also place a water sensor there...

I see it exactly the same way. The angle is nothing other than the valve itself. I am only interested in what is approved – or what an insurance company would consider acceptable. Regarding flexible hoses: every faucet has these hoses without a water stop. No one makes a fuss about that either? They can break just the same. The stress is identical.

Everything must be done professionally, but what is considered professional is a matter of debate. Therefore, no definite answer can be given to your question.

Hello

Please note that most water stops are to be installed vertically.
