Alternative to the cordless screwdriver?

A cordless screwdriver is, for example, ideal for building a terrace. I screwed in well over 2,000 screws at my place (in IPE and Bongossi) – only with a good Makita screwdriver. The batteries (however, not yet new Li-ion batteries) didn’t really benefit from that, and a bit more power would have sometimes been good. For all other work, a "normal" good cordless screwdriver is completely sufficient.

I built a multi-towered climbing frame with the same amount of screws, but with two Metabo cordless screwdrivers, one for pre-drilling (with countersink attachment), one for screwing. I was glad NOT to have a cable attached, that would have been much more cumbersome. For building a terrace, I can imagine it more with a cable, but I see no advantage, at least if you have a spare battery you can work continuously with the cordless screwdrivers.

I used a Bosch PSB 500 RE for carport, wooden terrace and everything else. It has more power than most cordless screwdrivers and always works. You just have to be a bit gentle with the speed control switch. The blue version does not have this disadvantage.

That must be a monstrosity of a climbing frame
With hardwood (especially Bongossi was hell) you really need power. In that case, a corded device is sometimes the better choice.
Pre-drilling was inconvenient because of concealed screwing.

When I see the picture, I remember again why I absolutely do not want to live in a new housing development. Don’t you get a massive feeling of confinement there?
