Hi everyone,

In my construction, external roller shutters are being installed. These are powered through junction boxes located above next to the windows. These boxes are not airtight (power cables routed outside, no airtight box used), but they have now been closed with spring covers and the edges were neatly sealed with joint filler during the painting work. This is not ideal, but should still be acceptable in terms of creating an airtight layer? (If I ever have to work on this again, I would replace the boxes).

Thanks for your answers!

Are the cables pulled inside the pipe or are they plastered?

If the second option, then no air comes into the house from outside. If the cable is inside the pipe, you can seal it both inside and outside with something (putty rubber, silicone, or something else airtight).
