Then set the underfloor heating so that it turns off in time when you turn on the stove, and can start again after using the stove... Otherwise, you'll just be opening the windows and heating for nothing...

My wife also really wanted to have a stove, fine and dandy... as soon as it's on, the patio door is thrown open because it gets unbearably warm in the cabin (4 kW stove) and the underfloor heating runs continuously because we use the stove very differently... Air/exhaust chimney and stove including accessories and installation were not free either, by now I would have preferred to buy something else with that money, going to the forest to cut wood, the work and space for storage is also not negligible... For that time I'd rather work for the company that makes the wood and earn more money per hour than the value of the wood I get in kind plus the work at home.

Wouldn't it be cheaper in summer to heat the hot water with gas compared to an expensive solar thermal system when gas is already so cheap? For that money, you can get more photovoltaic systems installed on the roof.

Also think about the chimney sweep costs for the fireplace and, depending on the gas system, the heating technician for regular maintenance/adjustment.

Hello,

the approach to building an age-appropriate bungalow is great to stay in the property for a long time. You did not mention a basement, which also goes against the concept; here a shed or a large garage on the property would be better. The installation of a gas condensing boiler in the hallway, house connection or utility room is possible without any problems. The installation of underfloor heating would also make sense for a gas condensing system, as this lowers the return temperature and makes the condensing effect really effective. There is enough space for a collector system on the flat roof, even if the oriented collectors might not look nice. A system with about 10 sqm for the specified living area will not only cover the daily hot water demand of 80 to 120 liters, but also significantly reduce gas consumption in the transitional period and winter. With this solution, a KfW standard that might be interesting for you and thus financially attractive financing is also possible.

Best regards, Erik

Sorry,
Erik Erdgas, how do you know how high the hot water demand is?
The other statements also sound very general.
Anyone building today should rather place more value on the building fabric = insulation of exterior walls; windows; roof.
And not install technology that is actually not necessary.
Because = then every type of heating consumes less energy.
Heating energy plays a lesser role today because the insulation of new buildings is good to very good.
In my opinion, the hot water demand is occasionally neglected in "model calculations."
And that is where you have to start and "let the cat out of the bag."
