Air heat pump and heating circulation pump VS warm water heat pump

Hello forum,

I want to heat with an air heat pump and currently have two offers from heating and sanitary providers.

Provider A recommends the following:
* Alpha Innotec LWD 70A-HTD air heat pump with heating circulation pump 200 liters

Provider B recommends the following:
* elco AEROTOP SPLIT 07M-RX /180 air heat pump with Vesttherm VT3150 ECO Plus 310 liter hot water heat pump

I am building a 140 m² semi-detached house with a small 50 m² granny flat (included in the 140 m²). At some point I plan to install photovoltaics, but the roof is not very large, I think you can maybe get about 5-6 kW out of it. Provider B said that the hot water heat pump is great if I feed it with electricity from the photovoltaics.

I am currently dealing with two questions:

1. Are there any experiences with the air heat pumps elco VS Alpha Innotec? Yes, I have already searched the forum, but that hasn’t really helped me so far. Currently I tend more towards the elco, as it is cheaper and supposedly has a better COP.

2. Whether the hot water heat pump is worth it for me? The extra cost would be about €1400. I am also a bit overwhelmed with the technology.

I am currently facing a conceptual question. Next year I am building a house according to the Energy Saving Ordinance 2016 and planning long-term also solar (still open whether thermal or photovoltaic).
The house has a small granny flat with 50 m² and the total area is about 190 m².


The whole house has a bathtub and the granny flat is designed for one person. In total, the house is meant to accommodate 5 people including children someday.


Basically, I wonder whether a domestic hot water heat pump really pays off that much or if there are any experiences with it?
Provider A is definitely unbeatable in price...

Hi, I can't say anything about Elco. I wouldn't install the LWD70a from Alpha Innotec because it is not modulating, or as AI describes it, "inverter-controlled". Regards

Hey, thanks already for the information. That would then be more like the model LWD"V", right? The colleague who recommended ELCO really gave Alpha Innotect a hard time... off-the-shelf product, etc.... But of course, he's a salesman.

Elco means nothing to me. In case of doubt, the product with the better service. AI is established, has in my opinion good service and a reasonably dense dealer network. However, please install a modulating heat pump. No matter which provider ultimately gets the contract.
