I am currently a bit confused about the choice of heating system. Our construction manager had actually planned the sdp solar roof tiles from the company Nelskamp. But now he has changed his mind and wants to offer us an air-to-water heat pump. Mitsubishi Zubadan. Does anyone have experience with it? Which type of heating would you recommend to keep costs as low as possible, but that is also possible for a KFW-55 house?

Hello Marina,

Was he already aware that you want to build a KFW 55 efficiency house? And what exactly do you understand by "construction manager"?

We have not installed it yet, but I have been following this system for quite a while and am waiting for real user reports from those who have installed this air-to-water heat pump. The provider is often mentioned together with Daikin or Donner – Daikin has good and economical systems.

This question cannot be answered because you do not provide any information about the conditions; even then it would be almost impossible, and answers can therefore only give a rough direction.

In a well-insulated prefabricated house it "might" be possible to manage with an air-to-water heat pump and controlled ventilation, whereas in a solid house the exterior walls and the floor slab usually have to be improved with insulation in addition to the technology. Actually, your structural engineer – who also prepares the thermal insulation certificate – should tell you where the journey can go ....?

Here you can find another discussion on the topic of heating:

Kind regards

Hello,
This will not change significantly unless there is independent from sales advice/planning!
A "construction manager" is simply not an independent MEP planner and energy consultant—at best a salesman! This "change of mind" is practically a quantum leap! I wouldn't trust a penny on this salesman!
There is no reliable and general answer for this. The individual data of the builder must be available.

Best regards

Looks very expensive, with the Kfw 55! Because of your expensive heat pump technology, etc. I would rather insulate more and do without the expensive technical stuff! Passive house with ventilation heating needs less energy, even if it is a bit more expensive because you reheat the residual heat with electricity. But you save €25,000 on the heating, which I would rather invest in even more insulation and better windows!
