Hello everyone,

I am new here in the forum, as I am currently tackling the construction of a turnkey KFW 55 house in Bonn. I would definitely appreciate your answers, as I still have many questions.

There are still a few preparations underway and soon it will start, and I am still considering whether I should register with the [Verband privater Bauherren] and hire a construction supervisor. Since it is a KfW 55 new building, we have already planned a KfW construction supervisor.

The question now is whether we should plan for an additional construction supervisor for further appointments?

1) Does anyone have experience with the [Verband privater Bauherren], preferably from Bonn? 2) Do you think one needs an additional construction supervisor besides the KfW construction supervisor? Honestly, I am unsure if the latter only focuses on the energy-efficient thermal insulation, etc. 3) If yes, for how many and which construction phases would you recommend this?

Thank you very much in any case. I would be grateful if someone would share their experiences.

Best regards

HHarms

Under no circumstances a construction supervisor, anyone in Germany can call themselves that. Therefore, most of them are also incompetent.

Find a proper expert or architect who supervises your construction.

We found someone who does both. He will come to the construction site a total of 20 times, and beforehand there was a construction meeting with [Gutachter,GU] and us.

I once learned that an expert should be publicly appointed and sworn in to be competent.

Well, there are idiots there too..... but I would definitely take an expert with me, because only they advise you independently and not in their own favor....

Hi, thanks already for the answers! How many appointments and for which construction phases would you recommend, should one bring in someone else besides the KFW construction supervisor (whom I need anyway for my KfW loan)?
