Hello James,

You should learn to distance yourself from most statements made by friends, acquaintances, and family. "Everything was better back then" is also such a meaningless sentence....

Probably no more than €2,500.00 per flight, fully installed.

Quite clearly: No.

Your general contractor selects his subs with whom he negotiates the standard. Everything beyond that you negotiate directly with the subs without any possibility of influence, as you described above. For example, for the stair builder, only his prices count, not those of the competition.

The only alternative: Excluding the stair trade; but keep in mind, then the construction stairs are history as well as your part.

Rhenish greetings

For me, there are two advantages of clay tiles compared to concrete roof tiles:

1. Due to the more elaborate interlocking of the clay tiles, a better seal to the tiles below is ensured and thus protection against penetrating water; that is why the standard roof pitch is also lower.

2. Clay tiles look nicer because you don't look directly against the rough edge as with concrete roof tiles.

Best regards

Hello! It looked similar for us as well. If you negotiate persistently, there is some room for maneuver :). Have the additional costs itemized – in one point (Krümmling = curved handrail) the extra costs seemed excessive to us; maybe that also applies to your "curved stringers". The rest was fine. Best regards, TomTom.
