Hello James,
You should learn to distance yourself from most statements made by friends, acquaintances, and family. "Everything was better back then" is also such a meaningless sentence....
Probably no more than €2,500.00 per flight, fully installed.
Quite clearly: No.
Your general contractor selects his subs with whom he negotiates the standard. Everything beyond that you negotiate directly with the subs without any possibility of influence, as you described above. For example, for the stair builder, only his prices count, not those of the competition.
The only alternative: Excluding the stair trade; but keep in mind, then the construction stairs are history as well as your part.
Rhenish greetings
Relatives and acquaintances (not the dealer!) advise against concrete: lichens, moss, fading, sand in the gutter... None of this happens with double glazing?

I unfortunately don't know what the standard stair model costs.

The question is: Do I have any negotiating basis with my general contractor's contract partner? Can I tell them: Another stair builder does it cheaper, if I don't have the calculation basis for the standard stair?
Quite clearly: No.
