With 540 euros per m2 of living space, you would have done a good job.

we have 106 square meters of pure living space for 4 people and still live....

okay, there is also an external storage room of about 8 sqm, a utility room (shared because we are a two-family house) and outside a garden house with 8 sqm.

so if anyone asked me, I would say no, you don’t need it. save your money

I would make it dependent on how difficult it is for me to raise the additional 30,000 euros, what I would have to give up for it, and whether an inheritance(s) is to be expected. Is it guaranteed that you can have children through the standard method? Otherwise, that also costs extra.

the decisive difference is not 30,000 €, but 10, 20 or 50 € more in installments, in other words, metaphorically more monthly burden for 13m2, this area can be the difference between tight, sufficient and generous. Furnish both floor plans with your furniture and the result will lead to the decision

Thank you very much in advance for your numerous responses. We understand that no one can make the decision for us. However, it is not an easy decision, since ideally you only build once and now make the decision for the next 40-60 years. The monthly additional burden is 80€. We have already measured our furniture and inserted it into the plan. All pieces of furniture would fit so far, although you can already notice that in the larger house it would be a bit more spacious and not quite as cramped.

Then I would do it. Especially since the 80 euros in a few years will no longer be worth 80 euros but maybe only 50.
