Can you tell me what the terms were for 15 years?

We did not have the conditions for 15 years printed out anymore. The Interhyp advisor had, among other things, also calculated this option with a 15-year fixed interest rate period on the computer and explained it to us, but there was no important advantage for us. As we said, we think that we can compensate for the interest rate risk through a shorter fixed interest rate period insofar as our financial future is not uncertain due to my civil servant status and I know that our options will be different again in 10 years.

But that still means in the end it could be that you pay significantly more interest. Regardless of whether a higher installment would be a problem in 10 years or not – I would always try to pay as little as possible over the total term. Have you ever calculated whether a full repayment loan with 20 years would be possible? That offers significantly better conditions (I would inquire at DTW, they were even cheaper for me than Interhyp).
