Hello
As with all Siemens and Bosch appliances, Neff also has the problem that the max. height of the front must not exceed 775mm, see dimension drawing. The Metod front is, however, 800mm high. So if you screw the front directly onto the dishwasher door, it would protrude too far at the bottom and would hit the appliance when opening the door. Therefore, you would not be able to open the dishwasher fully.
Additionally, Neff states that the min. height of the plinth must not be less than 90mm, but with Metod the plinth is 80mm. The plinth height is not really the problem; for example, in my kitchen the bottom edge of the front on the neighboring cabinets is about 85mm (depending on how you adjust the height of the carcass with the feet), so only 5mm of plinth height would be missing, and in an emergency there could potentially be a 5mm offset. Possibly the fronts of the neighboring cabinets (drawers) could also be adjusted a little upwards, then the offset would be just a few millimeters.
The main problem, however, remains the max. front height of 775mm!
There are now the following possible solutions to install the Neff dishwasher in the Metod kitchen:
1.) With Behjälplig: Then the front slides along rails on the dishwasher door when opening, similar to the sliding door of a refrigerator. Several users here in the forum have this and there are also some experiences and pictures of it. Some claim it works well, but there are also reports of problems (front too heavy, mechanism slips out).
2.) Stefan method: The dishwasher is set as low as possible with the adjustable feet so that there is about a 2.5cm gap between the top edge of the dishwasher and the bottom edge of the worktop. Exactly the missing cm from 775 to 800. This gap is filled inside with wooden boards. Then the front is fixed to the dishwasher door but in such a way that the top of the front protrudes up to the underside of the worktop, thus slightly extending above the dishwasher door.
I find both solutions to be “makeshift solutions” that should work but have their peculiarities. If I already have a dishwasher and want to install it in a Metod kitchen, I would choose one of these two solutions, trying both myself. The Behjälplig costs only about 25 Euro, so I would definitely buy and try that.
However, if you have to buy a dishwasher model first, as I do, you should immediately choose an XXL model WITH VARIO HINGE. Then the front can be mounted directly on the dishwasher door and it will fit without additional measures.
All the above can be read in detail here
but the discussion already spans many pages.
