Woodworm in timber frame house - How to defend against it?

The idea is good but we have no fireplace and therefore no wood that could be infested.

The infestation can also be located in the substructure of one or more baseboards or in the baseboards themselves (though this is less likely with particle board).

the post is a bit older, I would be interested to know what came of it. Who was able to help? How was the powderpost beetle eliminated? Has the construction company covered the costs? I am facing the identical problem... Many thanks.
