Hi,

our dear tiler, whom we have now had to wait for 3 weeks, has finally installed the windowsills. Of course, the painting is already done, and we'll be moving in over the weekend...

Is it technically necessary to dirty the walls underneath? Or can it be done without that?

Thanks and regards
Simon

Hello Simon, that could certainly have been done differently. Normally, no one even notices that benches have been installed. Probably too much glue or cement mortar was applied and then nicely spread.

I agree, normally they come much earlier...

One could have covered it up as well. The site manager thinks we should just paint over it and that's it... Well, we'll see, it's just unnecessary stuff.

Have you already paid for the installation of the window sills? I would wait until the damage has been repaired.

This is not damage, this is ... quickly working through the order.
The OP, sorry, I can't see your name right now with Tapatalk, should be glad that he was even allowed to do any DIY work or send a painter through his holy halls before the finishing work. This is not a given, and so one has to live with such repairs.

By the way, we also painted beforehand and deliberately always left 10 cm free under the window. There will always be a mortar adhesive edge under the sill – so you need freedom for the color transitions :)

I don't think this is an exaggeration now. Sure, the craftsman could have been more careful, but was he asked about that? He might be able to charge extra for special care. Whether 2cm or 8cm need to be repainted ...

But what is supposed to be the "damage" in € now...

That's why I wouldn't make a big deal out of it.
