The fitting has nothing to do with the magnetic contact at first, there is only the magnet attached. Either you have the magnets installed directly or you get, for example, corner deflections with a magnet and replace them yourself. The contact doesn’t care whether the magnet comes from Roto or Sigenia.

And can I install these magnets myself with a screwdriver? No drilling necessary?

Let's say I have almost two left hands, I'm a desk worker, but I can still manage to assemble an Ikea wardrobe.

A cordless screwdriver would definitely be an advantage.

I am thinking about a similar approach and thought I could revive this old thread.



Have you already done that? The reed switch is surface-mounted, right? How would the cable be routed then?
I would be interested to know how it would look aesthetically.

I have seen this installation and operating manual from ABB for the drilling mount/surface mount.

Surface mounting is the variant for retrofitting.
