We are also about to have all the windows, Venetian blinds, the front door, and a few other small things done in RAL 9005. Actually, this decision has been made for a long time, yet we still keep hesitating. We believe it will look very good, but somehow we keep getting unsettled, wondering why so few have it and whether it might perhaps become a problem from a thermal perspective!?
We have planned wood/aluminum windows, but RAL 9005 is really deep black; if you take a color fan, this black really stands out (you should definitely take one!). I am almost certain that with appropriate sunlight exposure, you could "fry" a fried egg on it; will a wood/aluminum window tolerate that over time? I’m not familiar with this, but what about the transition to the plaster? The expansion of the components and the heat itself will not be insignificant with black!?
I also ask myself the question of colorfastness in the long run. Will the black still really be black in 15 years? Personally, I do not like the omnipresent anthracite; I also repeatedly perceive it as bluish, and over time it seems to me that especially on aluminum it becomes bluer and uneven, cloudy. How will black behave here?
Could these be reasons why anthracite rather than black has become more widespread?
