Sure, but not everyone has the equity and/or income for a new house.
Other reasons:
- Otherwise you won’t get anything in an established neighborhood, only in ugly new development areas.
- Otherwise we would never have gotten so close to the train station. Since I have to go there every day to get to work, that was important.
- If new construction, then my wife would also have to work; now she can take care of the children for a few years.
- New construction would have been difficult with such a large plot. In new development areas you mostly get only 400 to 500 sqm plots, with a lot of luck maybe something around 700 sqm. But never 1600 sqm.
Everything has its pros and cons! But I really can’t stand this blanket badmouthing of one option.
