Hello
Slowly the window order is getting underway for our old building.
Question: which fittings would you recommend.

Offered were basic security
or RC 1 N (WK 1)
or RC 2 N (WK 2)
from Winkhaus.
I probably don't need much burglary protection because the windows are installed on the 2nd and 3rd floors without balconies, etc., so you would have to use a very long ladder.
The windows all have a size of about 1300x1400.
Thanks in advance

Then you have already answered your question yourself. RC1N

Hello Thank you so the RC1N (middle) My thought was more if there is a difference in the locking mechanism etc. Often the base is just the lowest quality which then does not last long.

Well, that is not the case.
As a rule, the basic security fittings (Basic) and the RC1N fittings are identical in terms of fittings - often for standardization reasons. Thus, all locking pins are usually mushroom pins. The difference lies in the number of safety locking pieces, which consist of steel and are usually screwed into the steel 1-2 times. Standard locking pieces, which do not prevent the prying out of the locking pins, are often only screwed in once (in the plastic).
Additional features include things like drill protection of the DK gear (which is a steel plate inserted in front of the DK gear), a lockable handle tested to 100 Nm, and the secured connection of the glass to the sash by e.g. bonding the pane or screwing the glazing bead. The pane remains unchanged compared to the standard in RC1N or RC2N.
With RC2 or RC2N, the number of locking points with mushroom pins is higher and/or their distance from each other is smaller, and the locking pieces are screwed into the steel.
It is therefore advisable to check:
- whether the locking pins are designed as mushroom pins?
- how many steel locking pieces are installed?
- whether the steel locking pieces are screwed into the steel?

Basically correct, but for windows on floors 2 and 3 without a balcony - so 6-8m high - it can be neglected ;)
