The PE pipe is also available as a 100m roll, and it is also UV resistant, with that soil I wouldn't dig

I have several "UV-stable" PE tarpaulins that have disintegrated in several places within a year or have at least become extremely brittle and unstable. I understand that the ground is ungrateful, but with drinking water, I would at least lay the pipe in KG. that offers an additional layer of protection.

In the mountains, you quite often see freely laid PE pipes. I would find KG a bit too complicated over rough terrain. Kabuflex or similar also provides protection and should be easier to lay.

After a short search, I found that the horizontal directional drilling method also works in the forest. Search for "renovated-drinking-water-pipe-through-forest-at-moxa"

The only question is how expensive something like that will be.

As far as I'm concerned kabuflex - but it might be more expensive.

Kabuflex is certainly cheaper, it should cost between a third and half per running meter and you don't need expensive fittings to make curves. For a 20mm pipe, the 40mm armored conduit from the hardware store is sufficient for about one euro per meter, no 110mm diameter is needed.
