Which type of roof windows do you have? Folding pivot/"normal"?

We have to decide whether to install a "normal" Velux roof window that you can turn, or a top-hinged pivot window. The latter is significantly more expensive and we need two of them. For ventilation or for the view, it is certainly the better option. But apart from the price: Maybe I’m having a mental block, but such top-hinged pivot windows might actually invite young children to climb on the roof more easily, right? Or how can such roof windows be secured?

We have KlappSchwing. You could climb out perfectly folded. That is probably true. Karsten

To get back to your question: how big is the price difference? I would tend to go for the [Klapp-Schwing].

I would say, tilt-and-turn "is worth it" if the view invites you to. With a height of one point eight meters or more, you can still stand fully inside the window and look out, as if standing on a balcony or commanding hill. Classic double casement windows are more for pure ventilation and letting light in.
