Hello everyone,

can you please help me decide which material I can / should use for grouting the concrete slabs.

[*]The concrete slabs are paving slabs (surface untreated) and 30x30 and 4 cm thick.
[*]The joint width should be 4 mm wide.
[*]The terrace should be about 10 sqm and lie on a gravel bed.
[*]The terrace should be covered with a solid pavilion.
[*]The grout should be dark brown in color.
[*]The joint material should be weed-inhibiting, ant-inhibiting.

Can we use a variable flexible joint mortar for grouting, especially for porcelain stoneware and stoneware coverings?

Are you actually allowed to post links to products here?

Thanks for your help.

Best regards
Chippy

Hello tiborb

use VDW800.
Make the joints a bit wider.
No problems with weeds, ants, dirt, etc.

I just watched the video about the product: it really makes you want to redo everything or grout with that stuff.

Weed-free with dan sand no grow top lock. Swept in. Lightly watered, wait. There is some cement in it and it will harden. Top lock and no grow. It worked here.

For your information: I have now decided to use sand-based paving mortar. The joint compound dries or cures with air. Just sweep it in and compact a bit – done. I am curious about the result. I will report back when I can say something about the long-term effect.

Thanks for the tips.

Best regards
