Ah ok How many mason hours are needed is relatively uninteresting to us since we have already negotiated a price for this. I just googled thin format but that wouldn’t be an option for us anyway. We prefer classic NF since our house type is rather classic. Thanks for the great explanation.NF = normal format, brick height 71 mm plus joint = twelve rows per meter wall height, DF = thin format, brick height 52 mm plus joint = sixteen rows. DF means one third more bed joints and one third more mason hours for the facing shell. In addition, with exposed or facing masonry (in my opinion even in random bond!) it is noticeable if the wall (section) lengths do not align to the octameter rhythm. Fantasy measurements will catch up with you at the latest when facing. With well-sawable aerated concrete this does not matter if the rhythm is broken here in order to keep it again in the facing shell. With other bricks I would advise against such rhythm-foreign overall wall thicknesses.
