Hello everyone,

I am new here in the forum, so please be patient if I forget something :)

My partner and I have purchased a plot of land, however, it is located in noise level area 3, which means we have certain requirements for sound insulation regarding the exterior walls of the bedrooms.

Does anyone here know about this and can tell us which exterior masonry we need to use to comply with the DIN standard?
We would like to use bricks because of the indoor climate. However, do we still need to consider insulation here? How thick will the wall be overall then? Should we rather use a different type of masonry?

Many thanks and best regards
Pia and Eike

The best thing is to use bricks filled with mineral wool. Thickness 42.5 cm.

This is what the planner tells you. P.S. The wall construction doesn’t matter to the indoor climate. Concrete, bricks, Ytong, with or without full thermal insulation – breathable walls for the indoor climate do not exist. Better to consider, for example, clay plaster. That would be more than a placebo.

We will also build into an LPB III. The masonry did not play a role for us, only the windows need to be checked.

Air-filled Poroton bricks without [WDVS] are not recommended in noise-exposed areas.

These bricks are ALWAYS to be avoided. They are really acoustic hazardous waste.
