We cannot decide which tiles we should choose.
Porcelain stoneware or ceramic; polished or matte!

What have you decided on?

THANK YOU!!!

I suspect that if you ask your question to 1000 different people, you will get 1000 different answers.
Completely dependent on personal preferences and tastes of the people.

We were just at the tile center today (Schautag).
Our tendency is towards a Mediterranean style - whether porcelain stoneware or ceramic, I can't even say yet. We haven't had a consultation yet.
We are only sure that we don't want a polished surface. We nearly slipped on such a high-gloss tile with shoes on - how is it going to be with wet feet then?
In addition, the floor area will probably have tiles where not every bit of dirt is immediately visible and where the cleaning effort won't be so high.

So much for our initial considerations.

How long have you been looking (already)? We searched for about a year and visited around 15 different stores before we knew what we actually wanted. Now it will be beige matte porcelain stoneware with a textured surface, size 60x60. However, we are only tiling in the bathrooms and only the essentials there, so the price is still manageable.

So we decided to use tiles only in the bathrooms (Gäste-WC + Bad), specifically so-called Solnhofer tiles (bruchrau). These are natural stone tiles and tend to have a Mediterranean style. Costs are about €60-70 / m². Just google for examples.

Thank you for your answers. We have now also "found ideas"! We are taking 30x60 fine dough Texas in beige.
Have a nice weekend everyone.

Tiles with us only in the bathrooms. 20x20 white glossy on the walls, matte for the floor. Possibly also light gray for the floor. Tiles that one/we find trendy and stylish today will be out again in 5 years and then you have to endure them for years (decades). Color comes into the bathrooms via furniture, wall paint and bath rugs.
