Where to live during the house construction?

Or container accommodations like those for construction workers can certainly be rented individually as well; they are not only available as a whole "village." Country inns with, to put it mildly, moderate occupancy would also be available. You can also build in stages if, for example, the existing house still occupies the space of a terrace / conservatory / garage. Two people and a dog does not exactly sound like a feudal castle, so construction time is relative. A prefabricated house without a basement goes pretty fast. One-and-a-half-story solid construction in an L-shape plus a bay window with a half-hipped roof and a full basement takes longer.

What speaks against a normal rental apartment?

I am with willo. We had REH, sold in March 16. Now we are renting until 10.9., then moving. Because the house we are currently renting was sold with possession transfer on 1.9. End of September would also not be a problem, but probably won't be necessary. We are also a bit lucky, the previous owner was happy about this interim rental to us with a clear end, we did not stand in the way of a sale. In return, he offered us a fair rate of 800 warm. Our payment for the new build will be similar at 745. So, nothing changes much. Look for something like that. I asked Haus und Grund if they had something in the local group, a member who clearly prefers a fixed-term rental contract, and see, help was provided. Karsten

Thank you for the experience. Leaving the house standing and building at the same time is unfortunately not possible. Our plot is too narrow for that. So the only option left is the idea of the apartment, which hopefully can also be found with a dog. Best regards
