When would this rate be feasible?

As already mentioned, this also very much depends on you... what some can still "live well" with, others already feel extremely restricted...

You definitely shouldn't take on this amount if it's under 4000! But even if you are above that, it depends on how the income is distributed, for example if the woman only works part-time when children come...

Can you not lower the installment and then, if everything goes well, make special repayments at the end of the year? Or are these 1700€ already with 1% repayment? How long is the fixed interest period?

Hello everyone,

first of all, thank you very much for the many responses!

We have been keeping a household budget for some time, but it was still important for us to hear how others spontaneously assess the situation. Unfortunately, cheaper properties are hardly to be found here (exaggerated prices for houses in need of renovation from the 1970s), so unfortunately only a new build remains for us. The 1700 euros almost represent a full financing, as we both studied and were in training until the age of 26/27. Accordingly, that is how it looks with the equity. In any case, thanks again!

The lack of equity is obvious, but what about reliable (!) income?
Both still in probation? both permanent? family planning?

Always remember:
Income today is relative, with financing spanning decades, the realistic permanent income counts!
