What does the "lifespan" of a prefabricated house mean?

Hi,

I don’t really care in which forum something like that is written. I just wanted to say that a lifespan of 30-40 years is pretty short. Although, of course, the question arises whether the technical or the economic lifespan is meant. But even then, 40 years is way too little.

When we were faced with the decision between solid construction or prefab, we heard exactly those kinds of sayings, and guess from whom. From solid house providers. Good prefabricated houses, there are huge differences in this area, last a long time if you treat them well and take care of maintenance.

But honestly, do you seriously believe that people will still want to move into a house built today in 50 years? I think a lot will change in 50 - 100 years. And what we call an energy-efficient house today will probably be a pollution generator then :D

Advantage of a prefab house :D it doesn’t dust as much during demolition, and you can still heat with it :)
