Hello everyone, finally there is a forum that is only about building, so I thought I would sign up right away! I want to buy new armchairs, now I am faced with the question of whether to choose microfiber or leather. In terms of price, there is hardly any difference, but which is better in terms of care and which lasts longer?

Hello Lolo, I can only tell you that an armchair made of leather looks much nicer than one made of microfiber. And with the right care, it lasts forever, my grandma has an armchair from the seventies and it is still beautiful because she rubs it every week with such a care product. Best regards

I wouldn't buy a leather armchair because you can see every stain and it won't come out. Better get ones made of microfiber, you can wipe them with a damp cloth and then it's fine. Besides, leather becomes brittle over time if it's not constantly treated with such a product.

Hello,
if you take care of your furniture, it will still look good after years, this applies to every material. Leather is indeed very nice, but I don't find it comfortable when you sit on it with bare legs in summer and then stick to it like that.

For leather, I can only recommend suede, it’s not as cold and kind of cozy. But take a chair that preferably has a removable seat cushion, then you can lift it off, clean underneath, and don’t have to struggle with annoying crevices.

Hello,
my neighbors have a leather set, but the cats have already left their marks there with their claws. It looks really bad and even the best care won’t fix it anymore.
