Hello everyone,
I am currently planning to purchase a water softening system and an additional filter.
This should ideally take place next week! :)
It is a two-party house, currently neither a filter nor a pressure reducer nor a softener is installed.
Our condominium is about 80 sqm in size, we have our own boiler, which means we also have access to the cold water/hot water pipes and underfloor heating pipes.
Surface-mounted siphon available.
Power outlet for electricity as well.
There are two of us.
According to the water utility, the water hardness is 13-15° dH, although recently 17 was measured.
It is a mixed water supply from a water utility and a reservoir.
(Is it therefore necessary to have a device that adapts to the hardness?)
As can be seen in the photo, copper pipes are installed in the house up to my heating room in the attic.
From there, plastic pipes branch off into my apartment.
There is a water meter for the other owner in the basement.
I have my own small cold water meter.
Since the lower owner does not want a filter/softener, I am looking for a smaller/compact softener and suitable filter.
A Judo or Grünbeck are completely out of the question in terms of size.
According to the plumber, the water pressure in our house is apparently higher than 3 bar, so too high.
Still, very little pressure comes out of our rain shower. (How could more pressure be achieved in the rain shower? The pressure at the faucet is sufficient..)
Is a pressure reducer necessary?
It is important to me that the water is treated as cost-effectively as possible. This also means that maintenance and follow-up costs should be kept as low as possible.
However, the main focus is definitely on "protecting" the washing machine, dishwasher, coffee machine, steam cooker, and the oven with steam.
And it would be great if significantly fewer lime scale spots occur so that we do not have to clean the sink and shower every day, which would also please the lady of the house!
What measures would be recommended for us?
And which smaller dimensioned devices are good?
Thank you very much for the help! :)
