Hello everyone,

I am currently planning to purchase a water softening system and an additional filter.

This should ideally take place next week! :)

It is a two-party house, currently neither a filter nor a pressure reducer nor a softener is installed.

Our condominium is about 80 sqm in size, we have our own boiler, which means we also have access to the cold water/hot water pipes and underfloor heating pipes.

Surface-mounted siphon available.

Power outlet for electricity as well.

There are two of us.

According to the water utility, the water hardness is 13-15° dH, although recently 17 was measured.

It is a mixed water supply from a water utility and a reservoir.

(Is it therefore necessary to have a device that adapts to the hardness?)

As can be seen in the photo, copper pipes are installed in the house up to my heating room in the attic.

From there, plastic pipes branch off into my apartment.

There is a water meter for the other owner in the basement.

I have my own small cold water meter.

Since the lower owner does not want a filter/softener, I am looking for a smaller/compact softener and suitable filter.

A Judo or Grünbeck are completely out of the question in terms of size.

According to the plumber, the water pressure in our house is apparently higher than 3 bar, so too high.

Still, very little pressure comes out of our rain shower. (How could more pressure be achieved in the rain shower? The pressure at the faucet is sufficient..)

Is a pressure reducer necessary?

It is important to me that the water is treated as cost-effectively as possible. This also means that maintenance and follow-up costs should be kept as low as possible.

However, the main focus is definitely on "protecting" the washing machine, dishwasher, coffee machine, steam cooker, and the oven with steam.

And it would be great if significantly fewer lime scale spots occur so that we do not have to clean the sink and shower every day, which would also please the lady of the house!

What measures would be recommended for us?

And which smaller dimensioned devices are good?

Thank you very much for the help! :)

Morning

Take a look at the Judo model i-Balance. It should meet your requirements. What strikes me besides the adventurous installation, an apprentice in the second year I would...., but also: Some plugged pipes - circulation? - contamination No safety group on the tank

Good evening!
Thank you for the reply.

The somewhat adventurous installation is due to the fact that just three weeks ago, one boiler was supplying water treatment for both parties.
That means the boiler upstairs was producing hot water and supply and return flow for the underfloor heating for the neighbors downstairs as well.

In pictures 1 and 2 you can see how it was before.
So different meters and heat meters.

But since now each party has its own boiler, the supply and return flow for the underfloor heating going downstairs (to the party downstairs) was plugged. So plugs were put on both upstairs and downstairs at the end. The same also applies to the hot water, as the neighbors downstairs now get hot water through their own boiler (see pictures, it has moved downstairs).

Unfortunately, we do not have a circulation line.

Safety group?
What is it needed for?
Or could it be that this is the red valve, see last picture.

Isn’t the i-Balance still somewhat oversized..?
And isn’t there a device that is smaller in size?

Thanks for the help!

PS:
The boiler is a CGW-2-14/100L.

Hi

This is the safety valve for the heating. There should also be a discharge pipe leading into the sewer system.
A similar valve including shut-off, non-return valve, and leak water pipe should also be installed in the supply line to the storage tank.
