Around 2500-3000€ including installation. But for that, you get something decent.

I can only agree with the previous speaker. At the end of 2014, I had a system from BWT installed as part of the complete heating and sanitary installation of my single-family house and paid about €1900 for it (Bavaria).

Only so-called "weakly acidic ion exchangers" are sensible IMO. These replace the Ca and Mg ions (which occur in water as calcium carbonate, calcium bicarbonate, magnesium carbonate) with Na (NaCl - table salt). During regeneration, the bound Ca and Mg are flushed into the drain and fresh Na is bound to the resins. Therefore, you always have to refill salt tablets.
