Washing machine and dryer in the dressing room? What do you think about that? We have thought back and forth and find that the advantages outweigh those of having them set up in the HAR. Setting them up in a third room would also be an option (HAR + storage/laundry + dressing room = 3 rooms), but for me, this is about comparing washing machine/dryer in the HAR or washing machine/dryer in the dressing room. In terms of space, the room would be suitable for us with +/- 10 sqm, while the HAR is rather already overcrowded with technology.

As far as I know, there are no problems with leaking. A water collection tray with a drain will be installed; even if the washing machine should leak, the water will drain similarly to shower or bath water into the sewage system.

Advantages:
- Washing machine/dryer where most laundry accumulates
- Washing machine/dryer not in the "dirty" utility room where garden stuff is also stored, but in the clean dressing room
- Laundry can then be dried in the dressing room (for laundry that does not go in the dryer) and also put away right away

Disadvantages:
- Dressing room is next to the bedroom, so sleeping is basically not possible when the washing machine/dryer is running

Another option would be washing machine/dryer in the bathroom; we also have enough space there (14 sqm), but then the washing machine/dryer would not be accessible if someone is in the bathroom.

I don’t see sleeping while the washing machine/dryer is running as a big problem. The washing machine/dryer only runs during the day for us. In principle, this can also be programmed (the washing machine starts so that it’s finished by the time you arrive home...).

Your opinions?

If your dressing room is next to the bedroom, I wish you lots of fun with the spin cycle. How about the cables? Easily possible and also sensible?

Certainly, the bedroom will have supply air and the dressing room exhaust air. It probably would have been that way anyway.

I don't understand the spin cycle? The washing machine spins for 15 hours in the dressing room next to the bedroom while we sit on the terrace... so what? I already said, we don’t wash at night. Does anyone do that here? Or with two children, do you not keep up anymore, so that washing has to be done both day and night? No idea. The idea only comes from the fact that we currently wash exclusively during the day, and therefore the dressing room would be suitable. At that time, you are either at work or in the living area downstairs, definitely not in the bedroom...

Yes... at the latest when you remember at 10 PM that the child absolutely has to wear a blue T-shirt tomorrow or you were out on Sunday but the laundry for Monday still needs to be done. If you exclude that, only the leadership question remains.

What would you say if someone suggests putting the bed in the [Waschküche]?

Sorry, but I think your idea is absurd and so impractical that I wonder if you have ever washed and dried anything...

The idea is unusual, but I find it quite nice. Apparently, there is no noise or moisture problem. We have a second utility room on the upper floor, where the laundry from the bathroom and bedroom can be processed directly without much logistics.
