Washing machine and dryer in the dressing room? What do you think about that? We have thought back and forth and find that the advantages outweigh those of having them set up in the HAR. Setting them up in a third room would also be an option (HAR + storage/laundry + dressing room = 3 rooms), but for me, this is about comparing washing machine/dryer in the HAR or washing machine/dryer in the dressing room. In terms of space, the room would be suitable for us with +/- 10 sqm, while the HAR is rather already overcrowded with technology.
As far as I know, there are no problems with leaking. A water collection tray with a drain will be installed; even if the washing machine should leak, the water will drain similarly to shower or bath water into the sewage system.
Advantages:
- Washing machine/dryer where most laundry accumulates
- Washing machine/dryer not in the "dirty" utility room where garden stuff is also stored, but in the clean dressing room
- Laundry can then be dried in the dressing room (for laundry that does not go in the dryer) and also put away right away
Disadvantages:
- Dressing room is next to the bedroom, so sleeping is basically not possible when the washing machine/dryer is running
Another option would be washing machine/dryer in the bathroom; we also have enough space there (14 sqm), but then the washing machine/dryer would not be accessible if someone is in the bathroom.
I don’t see sleeping while the washing machine/dryer is running as a big problem. The washing machine/dryer only runs during the day for us. In principle, this can also be programmed (the washing machine starts so that it’s finished by the time you arrive home...).
Your opinions?
