Good evening dear forum members,

I just came across this forum via a search engine and hope you can answer my question. I bought a leather-covered stool from the Karlstad series at the beginning of 2009. Unfortunately, the feet are now wobbly (the board to which they are screwed is loose). So I contacted Ikea service. However, they could no longer determine how long the stool's warranty was back then, 2.5 or 10 years. I believe it was 10 years. Unfortunately, I no longer have the warranty documents for the stool and the 2 years are, as always, just over.

My question is, does anyone of you happen to still have this booklet and can scan it for me and send it to me by email? If yes, please send me a private message, then I will give out my email address. It does not have to be publicly visible online.

Best regards, Hinnakk

What use is the warranty to you if you do not have a proof of purchase? No warranty without proof of purchase.

The warranty is useless to me if I don't have a proof of purchase.

But unfortunately, that is not the problem. With the larger items, there is usually a small booklet included that contains the warranty conditions for the furniture. However, this booklet cannot be found anymore. Now, the Ikea service is not sure whether there were different warranty conditions back then than there are today.

Well, the purchase was more than two years ago anyway.

Best regards hinnakk

My question again:

Anyone can get the booklet, as you have also tried to do through the forum. My understanding is: 2 years warranty back then and also today. But I’m happy to be proven wrong.

So now I have a result! The stool was repaired on site by the service and the whole thing was free for me.

An upholsterer commissioned by Ikea fixed it competently and quickly.

It was nice that my question was not really answered here, but only eventualities were listed that had already been clarified and were not part of the question. No warranty without proof of purchase is clear to me and that was not my question either! I just wanted the warranty conditions that are in the booklet that comes with the purchase, because these could have changed over time. They haven’t! So the stool has the same warranty as the sofa, unless it is the stool that comes with the Karlstadt rocking chair.

So have a nice Sunday!
