Hello,
for our renovation, we used existing distribution boxes. In the ground floor, they were plastered, sanded, and then painted. The boxes were closed with spring covers. It doesn't look nice, but it also doesn't stand out much if you don't look closely.
In the upper floor, wallpaper will be put everywhere now. Non-woven wallpaper that can be easily removed and reapplied. Do the distribution boxes need to be additionally closed with covers? Or can you simply wallpaper over them?
If I insert a cover first, the whole thing will probably bulge about 1 cm out of the wall and show through the wallpaper, since the spring doesn't latch properly.
At one wall, I removed the springs, glued the cover, and then wallpapered.
Would it be okay to just wallpaper, or are there any risks because of this?
What other options are there?
I now also know that it might have been wiser to use deeper switch boxes, but now it is like this and I have to live with it?
Best regards, Jan
