Hello everyone,

As a forum newcomer, I have a question about the proper installation of shower fittings. Two bathrooms in our house were recently renovated with fairly high-quality exposed fittings. In both showers, part of the thread and a gap between the nut are visible (see pictures). Surely, limescale and dirt will accumulate here. Is this a defect, or do I have to live with it? The craftsman’s feedback has been delayed for a long time.

Thank you in advance!

In my eyes, not a defect.

The thread should have been shortened. If the craftsman refuses, do it yourself, take a grinder/metal saw in hand and cut off 3 thread turns.

is also with us, I believe we even have the same faucet. It didn't bother me, if it bothers someone, as Tomtom writes, it can be changed quickly.

If the thread is shortened to fix this visual defect, then please do not shorten the thread that is now visible. The thread on the other side, which is screwed into the wall, must be shortened by this difference. Otherwise, your sealing surface will be ruined.
