Hello everyone,

we have now trudged through several bathroom exhibitions (the selection is gigantic, the possibilities enormous, and apparently there are no limits upwards) and meanwhile have two good bathroom plans (main bathroom, children's bathroom, guest WC, and separate WC/shower in the basement).

Price-wise, they are roughly on the same level with identical scope (according to the compilation of list prices about €25,000), so the following questions arise for us:
- Are there significant quality differences between the VIGOUR WHITE and R+F MyStyle series?
- For our calculation, we wonder whether an additional surcharge on the selection will be added to the approx. €25,000 at the installer, or just another amount x for the installation.

Many thanks for your answers.

Hello,

1. There will be no significant quality differences between Vigour White and MyStyle. Behind every house brand of wholesalers, there is a well-known faucet manufacturer. Specifically, in this case, it is the company Hansa that produces the faucets. At least for the shower and bathtub. Basically, wholesalers are interested in selling their house brands because their profit is highest there.

2. If you are building turnkey, it will usually result in additional costs. This means the plumber takes the selection form from the wholesaler and compares it with your bill of quantities (LV). The resulting difference is your additional cost. If you have chosen something that is not listed in the LV, then in addition to the material costs, the installation costs will also be included. Depending on what you have chosen, it may be that items from the selection form are already included with the plumber, such as concealed cistern, soundproofing bodies for WC and washbasin, etc., and it could end up being cheaper.

If you award the trade yourself, you can roughly use €25,000 as a guideline for the final cost including installation. However, please do not forget that pipework also needs to be installed and paid for.

At least this is how it would run with us. Unfortunately, I cannot say how your plumber handles it. But I think it is similar.

Best regards

We have Vigour (derby) completely in the guest bathroom and as a tub spout and faucet in the main bathroom.

Basically, we are very satisfied. Only with the thermostat would I not do it again. You can really notice the difference compared to, for example, Grohe.

Hello Donnerknall, Hello toxicmolotow

Thank you very much for your answers.
The bathroom consultant with the VIGOUR equipment repeatedly pointed out the high quality of VIGOUR and also mentioned the "Plus X Award" several times.
I am already relieved that there are no significant quality differences, so the decision can be made based on design and/or consultation.

We are currently leaning towards the VIGOUR variant, but in this configuration the identical KELCO fittings are considerably (25 - 30% according to list price) more expensive than at R+F. Also comparable concealed installation bodies (because identical according to the offer list) are about 20% cheaper at R+F.
Therefore, we were still considering whether R+F might possibly have a higher quality regarding the ceramics.

@ toxicmolotow
In the shower we currently have the Keuco thermostatic battery Moll 52774 in the offer. Should we still switch to Grohe here?

@ Donnerknall
Yes, we are awarding the trade ourselves. We will soon write to some sanitary installers to submit a corresponding offer.
We are aware of the piping issue, but we are already reassured that with the list price we are basically moving in the region of the installer including installation.

As I said, we will wait a few more days until the final decision and stroll through both bathroom showrooms again on the weekend.
It will probably come down to a gut decision, since the final offer prices hardly differ and are probably also equivalent in quality.

Further suggestions and experiences are welcome to be submitted later.

Many greetings and thank you very much.
