Our roofer is doing it. Our drywall installer said that according to some DIN standard, it is no longer (required?). I would just do it myself, it's just busy work.

I also masked it myself. It does take time, but that time can be invested. Whether it was necessary or sensible is another matter.

Just do it yourself, we also taped everything up afterwards in the attic.

Pre-cut strips, one pulls off while the other sticks on.

Just do that yourselves afterwards. It will cost you about 30 € and 1-2 hours of work. I find the company's statement regarding competitiveness quite ridiculous.

Last year there was a report here that condensation formed on a staple needle that was not taped over, which over time led to building damage.
